Good Morning Friends,
This week's biohack may surprise you because it isn't a supplement, a breathing
technique, or an exercise routine.
It's purpose.
Over the years I've read about many factors that contribute to longevity, but one of the
most fascinating is that people who feel a sense of purpose often enjoy better health,
greater resilience, and a stronger sense of well-being as they age.
That doesn't mean your purpose has to be grand.
It doesn't mean changing the world.
Sometimes purpose is simply having a reason to get up in the morning.
A person to love.
A garden to tend.
A book to write.
A friend to encourage.
A lesson to learn.
A life to continue exploring.
I was thinking about this recently and realized that some of the happiest people I know aren't necessarily the ones with the fewest challenges. They are the ones who feel connected to something meaningful.
Purpose gives us direction during difficult seasons.
It reminds us why we keep going.
And perhaps most importantly, it helps us remember that our lives matter.
Today's challenge is simple.
Take a few quiet minutes and ask yourself:
"What am I looking forward to?"
Not next year.
Not someday.
What are you looking forward to right now?
A conversation?
A trip?
A project?
A sunrise?
A chapter you want to write?
Notice what comes to mind.
Often our purpose reveals itself through the things we are excited to continue
experiencing.
Purpose doesn't always arrive as a lightning bolt.
Sometimes it appears as a gentle pull toward something that brings us alive.
Today's affirmation:
"My life has meaning. My presence matters. Each day offers another opportunity to
learn, grow, love, and contribute."
Wishing you a peaceful and healthy week,
Linda Shaffer
