Good Morning Friends,

I came across something recently that surprised me.

For years, so much attention has been placed on weight.
Lose weight.
Watch the scale.
Count calories.
But researchers studying longevity are discovering something different.
Muscle matters.

Not because we want to become bodybuilders.
Not because we need six-pack abs.

But because strength helps us keep our independence, our balance, our energy, and
our confidence as we age.

That really resonated with me.
Because I don't want to spend my life fighting my body.
I want to partner with it.
I want to help it stay strong enough to do the things I love.
To walk by the ocean.
To travel.
To carry groceries.
To dance in the kitchen.
To hug the people I love.
Strength isn't only physical.

It's a relationship with ourselves.
And the beautiful thing is that it doesn't take much to begin.
A few squats while waiting for coffee.
A walk around the block.
Light hand weights.
Stretching while listening to music.
Small choices done consistently.
I've learned that longevity isn't about perfection.
It's about kindness.

The little things we do each day that quietly say:
"I care about my future self."

Today's challenge:
Do one small thing today that makes your body stronger.
Not harder.
Not younger.
Just stronger.
Your future self will thank you.
Today's affirmation:

"I honor my body with movement, patience, and gratitude. Every small step I take
strengthens my future."

Wishing you a peaceful and healthy week,

Linda Shaffer
